The Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) and the Maldives Association of Human Resource Professionals (MAHRP), in association with Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) held the 2nd edition of the ‘’Dream, Decide, Develop’’ – Seizing your dream career within the Hospitality Industry’’ career guidance series.
The aim of the series is to enhance awareness of the widespread career paths available in
the Hospitality Industry and disseminate knowledge and insights that would assist in pursuing them. The Minister of State for Education Hon. Abdullah Rasheed Ahmed and the Principal of CHSE Ms. Aishath Safoora attended and spoke at the event. Other attendees included Executive Board Members of MATI and MAHRP, as well as senior management personnel of CHSE, teachers and A-level students.
The event included a keynote address with the theme ‘’What to consider when choosing a career?’’ by Mr. Ibrahim Inaz (Resort Manager, SAii Lagoon Maldives) and case study presentations by two guest speakers, Ms. Nina Nizar (Sales and Marketing Manager, Sun
Travels and Tours) and Mr. Mohamed Azmeel (Photographer, Canon Brand Ambassador) detailing their journey within the Hospitality Industry.
The event also included a panel discussion and Q&A session with the theme ‘’How do you find your passion within the service industry’’. It consisted of Mr. Rafil Mohamed (Executive Director, MATI), Mr. Ali Farooq (Operations Manager, Kurumba Maldives) and Mr. Ahmed Siraj (Training Manager, LUX North Male’ Atoll). MATI and MAHRP, plans to host the 3 rd edition of the series in B. Eydhafushi in November of 2019.
